Presidential Debate

McCain Versus Obama...

Why is it they cannot answer the question directly? I am an independent, not affiliated with either party, however I am against McCain for president. I have argued this point with many supporters and those persons seem to be blinded by the mere fact that the Republican party is a miserable failure when it comes to our economy. Thankfully, the trends show that the american public is tired of the "trickle down" economics that only fatten the wallets of the wealthy and leave everyone else to suffer.

I believe it's a stretch to say that everyone else is suffering, evidenced by the fact that we live in nice homes with nice furniture, have nice clothes, food on our tables, have one or more nice cars, go out to eat regularly, buy junk food, sleep in air conditioning, go to movies and other amusements, and on and on and on. If it were not for big business, many, many people would not have jobs or health insurance, for sure. If we have to "spread the wealth", what is the incentive to grow one's business; let's just let the government take care of us.

In our country, even those on welfare have bling and tricked-out cars, sporting manicured and fake nails and fancy hair-do's. Their kids get excellent educations at private and charter schools, free health care, and they live in nice houses in the nicest neighborhoods (Section 8, for example). Who's suffering!

Incidentally, the promise of tax cuts and health care for all will not happen because there will be no money for that, thanks to a democratic majority congress which refused to do the hard thing in recent years. Also, how can 95% of Americans get a tax cut when not even that many pay taxes? Does not calculate.
